19/11/2025 Committee Meeting Summary
The latest update from our last committee meeting of 2025.
The management committee meet throughout the year to discuss how we can improve the club, make decisions and assign actions. These meetings happen on an ad hoc bases when enough topics have been raised for discussion, although the next meeting is scheduled for February. A big thank you to those who put forward topics, it’s a great way for us to find problems and make improvements that we may not have thought of.
As always, this is not a complete list as other topics may not be relevant or are still to be finalised.
This time around the following topics were discussed.
👕 Spare Kits
After several years of using our original spare kits from the old Akuma supplier we have agreed to purchase new kits from the current Silverback supplier.
📢 Advertising
In January we will being doing a big push to bring more people into the sport and the club. This will include paid advertising on social media, posters, and bring-a-friend days.
🥇 Rec’ League style tournaments
After the success of last years Rec League, we will run similar standalone style tournaments this year.
🏟️ Thursday Training Hall
For several months now Thursday Development Sessions have intermittently been reaching capacity. This was one of the main reasons for the restriction of development sessions to National League players. The committee have been working hard to resolve this issue and has resulted in us agreeing with Blessed Hugh Farringdon to take on a second weekly slot on a Thursday evening. This will take effect from January 2026.
🗳️ Topics suggested by non-committee club members
Thanks for the overwhelmingly positive and kind comments around the club and how it is run. The committee are all volunteers and feedback like this goes a long way and is greatly appreciated. All topic suggestions were discussed and below is a list of some of them.
Reading Uni society
We are in discussions with the university sports park but it is unlikely that any more events will be run in the near future.
Closed Development Sessions
As discussed above, these will be open from the new year.
Junior dodgeball
A development plan for the Juniors Division to be made and communicated.
Ongoing feedback
The existing committee feedback form has been added to the contact us page of the website.
Club Mission Statement
A document will be created and posted to the website.
