Captain's Advisory Comittee Changes

Following on from your feedback and continuing our journey to modernise the way we do things; team selection for National League, etc. is changing.

Hi Royals,

Following on from your feedback and continuing our journey to modernise the way we do things; team selection for National League, etc. is changing. Members of the CAS (Captain’s Advisory Subcommittee) will now no longer hold an advisory position.

For full transparency, I have published the way we will make these decisions below:

In the rare situation that consensus can’t be reached, we now have the ability to take it to a vote to decide on the placement of individuals into teams. If that were to happen and the votes were tied, the Club Captain’s vote would be the tie breaking decider. This also goes for the case of a 3-way tie.

Who are they?

Going forward, we are codifying our best efforts to make sure the members will be representative and fit for purpose. To do this, we will aim to have membership that at least covers these characteristics:

  • 1 coach
  • 1 player from each previous National Team
  • 1 person playing in Women’s Dodgeball
  • Consist of 5 members (not including the Club Captain)

As always, this selection will be signed off by the management committee.

How will selection be assessed?

We are now using a simplified system of:

  1. Attendance - how often you turn up.
  2. Behaviour - how you treat others on and off court.
  3. Capability - how good your skills are.
  4. Decision-making - strategy and teamwork.

With all this said, I would like to thank all those who put their names forward. I was immensely happy to see that we had 12 volunteers this time around. It is always good to see people who want to help out at the club, thank you all.

The new selection will be:

  • Michael Nunn
  • Erustus Agutu
  • Jackou Vu
  • Joe Blessett-Williams
  • Maddie Hill

David (Club Captain)
